To help you with finding the ideal professional photo without having to spend the bucks on a photographer we listed our favorite photo sharing platforms below. All photos that are on these platforms are licensed under the Creative Commons Zero (CC0), which basically means that without asking permission of the owner you can copy, modify, distribute and use all these photos for free!
#1. Gratisography
This free photos platform is the creation of photographer Ryan McGuire. When scrolling through the pictures you will notice the playful, vivid and strong message he's trying to send with every photo. The photos are divided in a number of categories such as: animals, nature, objects, people, urban and whimsical. Every week Ryan adds new photos to his platform which you can follow on his Facebook or Twitter.

#2. Pixabay
With up to 500 000 different pictures, it's safe to say that you'll probably find what you're looking for at Pixabay. All images are checked by Pixabay-personal to ensure you of high quality pictures. You can use all images for personal or business purposes.

With 10 new pictures every 10 days the database of Unsplash never stops growing. The layout of Unsplash is pretty inviting as you can navigate through the pictures in grid format as in full size.

As they like to put it themselves: a curated collection of free web design resources, all for commercial use. Organised by keywords as: templates, people, business, icons, technology, health, food & drinks, sports & fitness. The only reason you'd get lost on IM Free is because the amount of pictures they offer.

#6. Picjumbo
Launched in 2013 it's probably one of the most well known free platforms for your images. They over over 600 free high res photos spread over multiple categories for you to choose from. If you're feeling generous or just loving what they're doing you can even download all their images including three Photoshop mockups in exchange for a donation of $10 or more.

#7. Burst
Finding that perfect free stock photo isn't always an easy task, so the guys at Shopify decided to tackle this problem and have their own in-office photo shoots to create high quality images. For these photoshoots they used their own people of all sorts of ethnicities and genders.
